Dr. Silvia Gold, president of Mundo Sano and member of the Board of Directors of Uniting to Combat NTDs, will participate in the first World Summit on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases

The Summit, which will be held on June 25 2020 in Kigali, Ruanda, will bring a call to action to put an end to these preventable diseases that affect more than 1,600 million people in the world, and that are the consequence and cause of poverty, since they thrive there where there is limited access to clean water, sanitation and medical attention.

Mundo Sano is the only Latin American organization that participates in the Uniting to Combat NTDs. This international coalition was created after the London Declaration (2012) was signed to join forces and support achievements made with respect to neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), in line with the goals set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The partners of Uniting To Combat NTDs include Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Drugs For Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi), Lions Clubs International Foundation, World Bank, Governments of Great Britain and United States (through their agencies, UKAID and USAID, respectively), governments of Affected Countries, and Pharmaceutical Companies.
