The Project \u201cUnited for Mother-and-Child Health Care at the Triple Border of the Chaco Salte\u00f1o region<\/strong>\u201d received the Golden World Awards in the category Non-government organizations (NGOs) campaign from the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), a global network recognized by the United Nations that aims to advance trusted communication and the ethical practice of public relations.<\/p>\n

\u201cTriple Border of the Chaco Salte\u00f1o\u201d<\/strong> is a project that Mundo Sano<\/strong> conducts along with the Association for Regional Health Development (ADESAR) with the aim of contributing to the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of Chagas disease<\/strong>, HIV infection, syphilis and hepatitis B, following the guidelines of the Pan American Health Organization EMTCT-Plus strategy.<\/p>\n

Since it was implemented, in 2018, the project has been able to assist more than 1,100 pregnant women, 49 new-borns and 129 siblings. Likewise, each year 6 interventions are conducted by a team of 30 people, including health professionals and local collaborators.<\/p>\n

The project helps to strengthen and complement the health capacities in the border region of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay, and is aimed at pregnant women, post-natal women, new-borns, infants, and family groups of the localities of Santa Victoria Este (Salta, Argentina), Crevaux and D\u2019Orbigny (Gran Chaco, Bolivia) and Pozo Hondo and San Agust\u00edn (Boquer\u00f3n, Paraguay), where some 23,000 people live; most of them are indigenous people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
